Thornbury u3a

Following a short AI course in December the Group is meeting on 14 February 2025 at The Chantry for a news update and to discuss the way forward.   All interested parties are welcome to attend.....

This is a copy of the Dec. 30th email addressed to those Thornbury u3a members who expressed an
interest in the formation of an ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE Group.

ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE GROUP - Update December 2024.

At the inaugural meeting on 9 September 2024, four members volunteered to
start the process of forming a new AI Group. No one had expected that an
offer would be received from a member of the Yate and Sodbury u3a to
deliver an AI course consisting of six sessions, held during November and
December, with a condition that 20 members maximum could attend each
session.

This course has now been completed so it is time to turn our attention to 2025.
A meeting has been arranged for 14 February 2025, 10am for
10-30am start in the Buckingham Room at The Chantry which it is hoped
many of you will attend. I will issue a reminder nearer the time.

We do however have a problem. The four organisers during 2024 have
decided to relinquish their posts for personal reasons. It is essential that we
have someone to deal with communications, finance, room hire and
refreshments. None of these shared activities are onerous but without them
the Group cannot survive, which would be a shame considering the huge
amount of interest already expressed.

Do you feel that your contribution to one of the tasks mentioned above
would enable the Group to meet, say monthly or even bimonthly? If so,
please contact me at your earliest convenience expressing your preferred
Working Group activity.

A Happy New Year to you all.
