Email scam warning

The committee have become aware of a cluster of emails arriving in committee members and some group leaders mailboxes.
They all seem to have been generated from valid but false email addresses and sent via an as yet unclear route to our email redirector.
If you expand the email header to show the actual email address a simple reply will be sent to, then you will find it does not match the correct email address of the alleged sender.
The first email is short and very general and is intended to elicit a response from you which if you simply replied to would of course contains your real email address - but you are actually sending to some scammer created email address. Their reply then progresses on to asking to send an online gift card token for the hard working committee and a promise to refund your expenses. I'm not aware of anyone being gullible enough to fall for that sort of request.
The actual messages as sent conform to legitimate email structures. There doesn't appear to be an easy way to block these nuisance messages at the moment - so beware!
Either do nothing, or block the senders email address and delete the scam message. Just be aware that a similar even could recur.
