We are a small but lively and committed group. We read a very wide variety of books in French and discuss them in English. We have no objection to people resorting to an English translation if the book proves challenging. Increasingly we find that we can obtain the books on Kindle where the inbuilt dictionaries save a lot of hassle. Otherwise they can be obtained via secondhand bookshops through sites such as Abebooks.

We meet monthly on a Wednesday afternoon but can decide which Wednesday to suit members. We met via Zoom during the pandemic and later, once Covid restrictions permitted, we met outdoors in a garden, following regulations, unless the weather was inclement. Then we resorted to Zoom. We shall be continuing this practice to protect vulnerable family members of some of the group.
