The Family History Group meets every third Friday of the month; starting at 10:30am in the morning in the Coach Hall of The Chantry. Doors open at 10 for coffee and chat.
We undertake a programme of presentations and live research sessions. The research sessions, held in small groups with an experienced researcher, are designed to help individual members with their research problems. These sessions utilise the WiFi at the Chantry and the many websites the researchers have access to.
The presentations, some from external speakers and some by our own members, cover a wide range of subjects and would be of interest to both the beginners and the more experienced researchers. The talks cover Family History research techniques, useful websites and the best genealogy databases on which to hold your family history data. The talks often address the social history issues of the times. New members and visitors are very welcome.
