Welcome to the Home page of the Thornbury u3a group

Thornbury is a thriving market town with a population of over 15 thousand inhabitants located about twelve miles north of Bristol and three miles east of the river Severn. The old market town still retains a lot of its historical character despite much new residential and commercial development. It has this active, well supported u3a group of more than 1500 members.

This year we intend to support the town council in their bid for the UK Town of Culture application in the small towns category. This is the first year of the award scheme.
